15 Mins Flexibility Chair Yoga Flow | Move, Breath, and Feel Flexible

Chair yoga is an accessible form of yoga that allows individuals of all abilities to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of yoga. This guided session focuses on gentle movements and deep stretching to improve flexibility, mindfulness, and relaxation.

To begin, sit comfortably on the edge of your chair, feet firmly planted on the ground. Take a moment to close your eyes, relaxing your shoulders, and focus on your breath. This centered breathing preparation helps cultivate awareness and sets the tone for your practice.

The routine initiates with shoulder rolls, a gentle motion to release tension. Lift your shoulders towards your ears before letting them fall back, executing several repetitions.

Easily sway your head from side to side, encouraging the neck muscles to loosen. Feel the elongation through lifting and lowering your chin, optionally supporting the back of your head with your hands for added stretch.

Lift the left knee towards your chest, indulging in a full extension while connecting with your breath. When stretched forward, awaken your legs through ankle circles, cultivating both mobility and flexibility.

Interlace your fingers overhead, extend fiercely upwards, then ease into side bends. The stretching action thickens in the sides of the torso, elongating while lightly compressing through paired motions.

Position your arms overhead and move slowly into soft twists, engaging the core with every rotation. Constantly return attention to rhythmic breath, ensuring that your movements are fluid and controlled.

Rebalance by engaging in a full-body embrace as the session comes full circle by elongating the arms and spine through broad circular motions. As the practice rounds out, lower your arms to your sides, breathing deeply into a sense of gratitude.
