are you deep cleaning your waterpik correctly? #shorts

Maintaining your water flosser in a clean and functional state is essential for optimal oral health. A routine cleaning schedule can prevent the buildup of mold and other contaminants.

Begin by cleaning the outside of the unit. Use a reliable cleaning spray to wipe down the exterior surfaces of your water flosser every month or so. This helps keep dust and grime at bay.

A crucial component that demands regular attention is the water reservoir. If your reservoir has a black valve, make sure to remove it.

  • Place the black valve and reservoir on the top rack of your dishwasher, or hand wash them using soapy warm water.

These actions will ensure the internal surfaces remain clean and free from biofilm accumulation.

Once a month, enhance your cleaning routine with a vinegar solution. Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar with warm water, filling the entire reservoir before running the machine until the liquid is gone.

Repeat this process, replacing vinegar with plain warm water, to flush out any residual vinegar and impurities.

"I always run my lines after each use, preventing mold growth," stresses the video narrator.

Don’t forget to clean the tip, which also plays a critical role in maintaining a bacteria-free flosser. Soak the flosser tip in a mix of two parts water to one part hydrogen peroxide for five minutes.

Finish by rinsing the tip and allowing it to air dry completely before reattaching it for the next use.
